Sun Country Airlines Resurrected and Stronger Than Before ? imp ...

They may be small and based out of St. Paul Minnesota but Sun Country Airlines is known for its flight destinations which include the US, Mexico and the Caribbean as a small airline. This mighty little company seems to have a way of winning industry awards every year. You may recognize them as an airline that offers great service for people who need to stay on a budget which is something they?ve fought hard to maintain. One example of this is that Sun Country has earned a spot in the top ten Travel and Leisure for four straight years. For four straight years Sun Country Airlines has been among the top ten in Travel & Leisure. Travel & Leisure has listed Sun Country among its top ten for four years running. For four years running Sun Country Airlines has been awarded a top ten position in Travel & Leisure. And that?s only the beginning, Conde Nast Traveler has picked Sun Country Airlines for their top honors for three straight years. But that?s not the end of their award winning career, Conde Nast traveler has chosen them for top honors three years running. And this is of course only the beginning others like Conde Nast Traveler have even kept Sun Country in top honors for three years. For the past three years and counting Conde Nast Traveler has help Sun Country in its top honors club as well. You might be surprised by the information you will read here about this amazing airline who is of course all about treating its customers right.

Sun Country Airlines was in their heyday during the early 90s. They had record income earnings of nearly $10 million. The fleet doubled in size as did the number of employees. But that was no accident because the company was being steered by highly experienced aviation and airline professionals. They had also secured charter flight services to the Middle East as well as passenger flights to Europe. They did that and did not deviate from their core operating principle of providing superior service their customers. For Sun Country the July 2010 announcement of Travel and Leisure Magazines top 10 domestic airline inclusion was huge! This recognition is part of T & L?s World Best Service Award for 2010. You?ll be interested to know that the basis for this award is the survey questionnaires taken by actual travelers on various airlines. Eligible carriers range in size of domestic carriers. So that makes it especially satisfying for Sun Country.

Sun Country also offers leasing options varying in choice from wet to dry lease options. A wet lease (ACMI ? Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance and Insurance) is actually a very common type of aircraft lease arrangement. In this option, Sun Country will take reins over all factors for the operation of the aircraft even though it is a leased arrangement. Sun Country goes above and beyond to accommodate its clients requests and this makes flexibility of leasing durations possible. Wet leases are typically long term meaning more than several months to several years.

Even though Sun Country Airlines has had to declare bankruptcy, not only they but their creditors are positive and hopeful about the future for this airline. They are not down for the count by any means. As of late 2010, the airline is just beginning to roll out their reorganization plans. Considering their overall founding philosophy, we are confident about the future for them. This is smart airline that was founded by highly experienced aviation professionals. We have no doubt all of the positive history and confidence was a factor in recent proceedings. So we are highly confident that next year, in 2011, will see continued progress toward climbing toward solvency and profitable operations.
