Having more than my share of nephews who start school soon, I decided to give their rooms a reminder of summer with a simple Wiffle Ball project.
Simply gather up a some Wiffle Balls from the 99-cent store or snag the ones left lingering in the yard after the dog days of summer are gone.
Truth be told, I have one of these pencil holders on my desk, so they?re not just for younger kids, they?re for big kids, too.
YOU WILL NEED:
2 large Wiffle Balls
Sand paper
Goop Glue or E-6000
Dremel tool with cutting wheel
HERE?S HOW:
1. With your Dremel, CAREFULLY cut one of your Wiffle Balls in half. Most Wiffle Balls are made this way so find the seam and cut along that carefully. Mine just split apart once I got cutting on the seam.
2. Sand the flat part of your cut Wiffle so that it?s smooth and even. This is your base.
3. With your sandpaper, scruff up the parts where the half ball and full ball will be glued together.
4. Put a gob of Goop or E-6000 where they meet, smoosh them together and allow to dry.
Check back with this blog tomorrow for my DNA Wiffle Ball pendant lamp project!
This and other projects, can be found in Mark Montano?s books, which include ?The Big-Ass Book of Home Decor,? ?The Big-Ass Book of Crafts,? and its sequel, along with his YouTube page.
